Teaching of the Week #54

Teaching #54: The Gradual Path to Cessation

Your life’s practice is to let go of whatever grasping has arisen and to invite cessation in this very moment. Each little moment of cessation, no matter how brief, brings well-being … By creating brief moments of cessation you will develop insight and skillful habits that will lead to more frequent and longer-lasting moments of nonclinging.

Chapter 14, Pg 163-164

For your reflection: Have faith in this gradual approach to realizing full cessation. Take a vow that ten times a day this week you will let go of a moment’s clinging. Each time acknowledge to yourself that you did so. Cultivate patience and appreciation for this capacity.
